Lotus 1-2-3 1A* (7/1/1983) Released in 1983 by Lotus Development Corporation For DOS Image Quality: used, DOS system placed on backup disk. Lotus 1-2-3 was an early spreadsheet application available for MS-DOS. It became extremely popular in the late 1980s, displacing the former leader VisiCalc. Lotus had difficulties adapting 1-2-3 to the Windows environment, and was overtaken by Microsoft Excel. Later versions were included in Lotus SmartSuite. IMPORTANT: This software contains copy protection, and none of the known unprotects work against this disk archive. There were a number of different "1A" releases for the IBM PC using different copy protection. This is a later "1A*" release, as it identifies itself with a "*" below the version number.
